Visual artist and musician Kyle Bates announces new Drowse album Wane Into It and releases new single, 'Untrue in Headphones' featuring guitar and vocals from Midwife. The first song recorded for the new record, 'Untrue in Headphones' is a spacious and atmospheric track, driven by two competing bass lines, draped in foggy drones, live vibraphones, subtly twitching electronics and field recordings, all accompanied by Midwife's ethereal vocals, the whole song has a deeply melancholic and almost haunted feel, a feeling accentuated by the visuals with over lay empty houses with scenes of sparse natural beauty. Here Bates describes his intentions behind the track and visuals: "The song is about ambiguity, listening to Burial’s Untrue on a train to anesthetize myself, and being ok with our inability to fully know another person — finding the value in it. The accompanying video was shot during a residency in La Barre, France, and on the Oregon Coast. It invokes the difficulty of being present: thoughts fragmenting through time and place."
